The rehearsal process was a revelation to me- brutal, exhilarating, tense and demanding. But I became fascinated by the way the dancers’ feet seemed to be telling their own story, a very different one from what the dancers were presenting. Footage captures these moments with a mobile phone video at the start and end of rehearsals. It reveals a different perspective on this vulnerable and tough process, which, in many ways, mirrors the issues common to human relationships – a fragile balance of assertion and compromise.
